Frequently Asked Questions
Our most asked questions answered right here. If you don’t see yours, give us a call at 440-701-6170 and we’ll be happy to answer any questions.
Do I need therapy?
We all go through stuff. That might be family problems, traumatic experiences, difficult relationships, stress in your career, feeling lost or unloved. Sometimes this can cause emotional symptoms that affect your day to day activities, or make you feel alone or misunderstood. Sometimes increasing your self care routine or spending time with loved ones is helpful, however, it’s not always enough. Scheduling an initial meeting with one of our licensed therapists can help to determine if what you’re experiencing is significant enough to deem it necessary to engage in therapy. Simply request an appointment to come in.
Do you accept insurance?
Yes! However, it may vary on which therapist accepts which insurance. We accept the following insurance plans:
- Aetna
- Ambetter
- AmeriHealth Caritas
- Anthem/Blue Cross Blue Shield
- Buckeye
- CareSource
- Cigna
- Compsych
- Enterprise Group Planning
- GEHA
- HealthPartners
- Humana Medicaid
- Magellan Health
- Medicaid
- Medical Mutual
- Meritain Health
- Molina
- Mutual Health Services
- OhioRISE
- Optum
- OSCAR
- Partners Direct Health (Imagine 360)
- The Health Plan
- TRICARE (non network certified provider)
- Trustmark
- UMR
- United Healthcare Community Plan
- United Healthcare
If you don’t see your insurance listed, you still have some options. You may pay with cash, check, credit card, or with your health savings account. Some insurance companies will even accept a receipt (superbill) showing that you have paid for services and will then reimburse you directly.
Do I have to use my insurance?
No, you do not. Many people opt for Self Pay to retain their right to control their therapy. Without the involvement of the insurance company a diagnosis is not required, there’s no cap on how many sessions or the type of therapy, and most importantly, insurance companies don’t have access to your records.
Do you provide estimates for services?
Absolutely! Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

What are your office hours?
Our therapists work by appointment only and each therapist sets their own schedule. Some work days only, some work nights and weekends. We have therapists that work each day of the week, including Saturday, Sundays, and nights. If you need a specific time frame just be sure to let us know when scheduling so we can match you with the right therapist.
Most of our adminstrative staff work remotely and occassionally go in office. Please be sure to call ahead before stopping by to ensure that one of us is in the office.
What is your Fax Number?
Some of the businesses we work with still have a need to fax us, we’ve got one: Fax # 440 -527-8043
Does insurance cover couples counseling?
It is our policy to not bill insurance for couples counseling as insurance can only be used for things deemed “medically necessary” and require you to qualify for a mental health diagnosis to undergo treatment. When the focus of the counseling is on the relationship and not the treatment of a medical diagnosis it does not qualify for billing insurance.
Is what I tell my therapist confidential?
For the most part yes, and I’ll explain. If your spouse, partner, parent, or child, calls inquiring about your progress, then no, we can not share any information without your written consent. However, our job is to keep you and others safe. So there are a few things we have to act on or report to appropriate authorities, such as…
- Suspected abuse or neglect of a child, elderly person, or a disabled person.
- If I believe that you are in danger of harming yourself or another person.
- If you report that you intend to physically harm someone the law requires me to inform that person as well as legal authorities.
What are the sessions like?
In the first session, you will complete our agency forms, discuss confidentiality, as well as discuss payment. Then your therapist will ask you to share your story, so they can learn more about you and determine your goals for therapy.
Then the follow up sessions will be tailored to meet those goals set. Therapists will often check in to monitor progress by asking you and reviewing your goals. Therapists may assign homework for you to work on between sessions, as it is important to practice implementing techniques learned in sessions.
